What to say about a Bill Wyman show ?

Bill is on tour with outstanding musicians, and he's playing almost only great standarts.

The show was good, and the audience was made of a lot of Rolling Stones fans who wanted to see Bill on stage again.

The biggest event of the night was Bill taking the microphone and singing.
He only did it a few times in 1997 and stated that he didn't appreciate it. No one in the audience can say he was reasonably excpecting it to happen but Bill took the microphone to sing
You never can tell , a song that even the younger generation knew since it was featured on the "Pulp Fiction" soundtrack.

Beverley Skeete was singing as good as usual, and she gave us a great version of I put a spell on you .

Albert Lee played great guitar parts, back by Terry Taylor.
The show even featured another great guitar player :
Andy Fairweather Low, who contributed to the Rhythm Kings albums, but who wasn't able to be part of the previous tours.

Another new guy in the band : Mike Sanchez ( see photo below).
He's a real frontman, and a good keyboard player.
Introduced by Bill as a lunatic, he made a great impression to most of the audience and put a lot of energy and emotion in the set.

The overall athmosphere of the show was really intimate, and the lights were very dim and diffused.

At the end, people came out of the Olympia with mixed feelings.
The ones who knew Bill's Rhythm Kings records had a great time. Some of the others were a bit disappointed, because excpecting more from such an all-star band.

Fact is that the Rhythm Kings are a great cover band, but just a cover band. They stay always very close to the original songs, maybe even too close to the originals...
