First of all I'd like to dedicate this review to the living memory of Caroline Torterat, one of Mick Taylor's biggest french fans.

The New Morning club was sold out, as all the french dates of Mick's current tour. The venue is a very nice place, and consists in a mixture of bar, tables, and standing area.

From the beginning of the show, everyone could notice that Mick was in excellent mood. His new hairdress makes him look younger, and his guitar playing is still amazing. The band's line-up was almost the same as during the 1998 tour, but without a second guitar player.

Secret affair was a great show opener, followed by a very good version of Twisted sister. After the 5th song, the band left for a break, and came back after approx. 15 minutes.

The 1st song of the second set was Leather Jacket, which was an excellent surprise to everyone.
One funny moment of the show was Mick breaking one of the strings of his guitar, and the rest of the band playing while he was changing it.

You gotta move was introduced as a song Mick played with the Rolling Stones. It was followed by Bob Dylan's Blind Willy McTell, which was cut in the middle by an excerpt of All along the Watchtower, another Bob Dylan song.
Then came Red House, a  standart in Mick taylor's shows, which also had a great response from the audience.

In a very good mood, Mick introduced Can't you hear me knocking as a special version of a Stones song from Exile...
The version was great, even if a fight in the front of the stage disturbed a part of the audience for a few moments.
The last big surprise of the show was Mick and his band coming back after 5 minutes for a surprise encore : No expectations !!!

This 2 hour-long show (not counting the break) was by far the best Mick Taylor show I've seen,
and I highly recommend not to miss him the next time he'll be touring your country.
