The Setlist :
|
Oasis was not officially Neil Young's opening act, but as a matter of fact, their one-hour show was more likely to be considered that way than as a Oasis /Neil Young double bill show. I had
exactly what I thought I would get : Liam's provocative behavior, a huge,
almost too loud sound, and a band playing as if they were playing in a
club. Go let it out was great, and my only regret is that Noel decided a few weeks before the show that the band would not play Wonderwall anymore. Supersonic was also forgotten. The most original part of the set was the final song : a cover of the Beatles' song I am the Walrus. To be honest, all the friends that came with me that night were disapointed by Oasis, probably because they didn't have a slightest idea about how Liam behaves on stage, but also because of the sound. As far as I am concerned, I'm glad I saw them. They played almost all the songs I wished to hear ( Cigarettes & Alcohol, Columbia, Don't look back in anger ), but I think I wouldn't have been able to attend a complete regular Oasis show with such a loud sound. I was curious to see if they would join Neil Young on Hey Hey My My, but it seems that he did not invite them to, and it finally didn't happen. |
