The day after the indoor tour opening at the Olympiahalle, a local newspaper sent a open letter to the Stones, asking for a show that would last more than 2 hours, with a lot of different songs. The requests included Get off my cloud, Gimme shelter, Let's spend the night together, and people were wondering if there wishes would be heard by the Stones.

When Friday came, luckily for the 60,000 people in the audience, the sun was shining over the beautiful Olympic Stadium, instead of the announced bavarian summer storms.

The show started early because of the local strict noise disturbance regulation. The Stones were on stage at 8:45 PM.

The boys played a great show, and Mick put a lot of energy creating a contact with the audience.
The setlist wasn't as different as we could have expected, but Rocks off, Wild horses, You can't always get what you want and Little red rooster on the B-stage were great moments.

Just like on the US tour, Gimme shelter gets a much longer intro played by Chuck, Darryl and Lisa, who keep playing it until the Keith, Charlie and Ronnie are back on the main stage. This night's version was great, Lisa's singing being more powerfull and less sophisticated than on the previous tours.

My only disappointment came from Keith playing Slipping away on 2 consecutive shows.
Happy was great, with Ronnie on the slide guitar.

The overall impression is that this 130 min. concert was even better than the indoor opening night 2 days before,
but again, only 20 songs...
