July 22 : European Tour 2006, first analysis
What
can be said after 10 days of tour and 5 concerts ?
First a feeling of relief : Keith shows no apparent sequels from his accident,
and the band seems to be in very good condition.
Concertwise, only one new song : Streets Of Love. The song is much better
live than what most people could imagine listening to the studio version. Sway
made its 1st european appearance yesterday in Berlin and I hope it will be back
on the setlists on a regular basis.
As Tears Go By is played regularily, but sometimes, the band has the sad
idea of replacing it with Angie.
Concerning Keith's set, a lot of fans regret that the great new song This
Place Is Empty is often replaced by Slipping Away, a song that
was very often performed during the previous tours.
Setlist and reviews to be found on the Tour
2005-2006 page.

After Keith's pair of songs, a lot of new
material has been added to the Stones' set lists these days.

Worried About You, one of the highlights of the Licks Tour's club shows
also was part of the show.

these days.
Memory Motel, Gimme Shelter, Let's Spend The Night Together, Respectable also
are great surprises, along with As Tears Go By and
Get Off Of My Cloud.
The only negative point for hard-core fans would be that these new songs replace
other "rare" songs like 19th Nervous Breakdown, Get Up Stand Up,
Night Time, Back Of My Hand and She's So Cold instead of replacing
one of the classics performed show after show for decades. Each fan has a
