Dec. 29 :  Let's end the year with a record ! 

The 2005 Rolling Stones Tour is the highest-grossing North American concert tour of all time.
The previous record was held by...  the Rolling Stones' 1994 Voodoo Lounge Tour.
Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie performed in front of 1,200,000 fans this year, making record ticket sales of $ 162,000,000.
U2 are second, followed by Celine Dion and Paul McCartney.

Dec. 28 :  A new U.S. date added 

The 1st new 2006 U.S. date has been confirmed today : Feb. 8 in Atlanta.
The Stones will be back at the Philips Arena, where they already played Oct. 15. 
Fan club presale starts tomorrow, and public sale will start Jan. 9. Check all confirmed dates and past setlist on our Tour 2005-2006 page.  After announcing the few additional U.S. dates, the Stones will give the details of their Japanese, Australian and New Zealand dates.

Dec. 13 :  The Stones confirmed free show in Rio next year.

Up to 1.5 million people are expected to attend the Rolling Stones' free concert at the Copacabana Beach, Feb. 18 2006.
The show will be broadcast on brazilian TV channel TV Globo and a DVD of the show may be released.

Dec. 12 :  The Stones add 1 german date : Berlin.

After adding a 2nd Wembley Stadium and a 2nd Amsterdam ArenA, the Rolling Stones have added a show in Germany : Berlin, July 21.

Dec. 9 :  A Bigger Bang nominated for the Grammys.

The Rolling Stones' latest album has been nominated in the rock album category. 
Other nominees are U2, Neil Young, Coldplay and the Foo Fighters. The winner will be announced Feb. 8 2006.

Dec. 4 :  Last show in 2005 for the Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones gave their last concert this year yesterday night in Memphis.

Dec. 3 :  A second concert at the brand new Wembley stadium

After the selling-out of the Aug. 20 concert at the new 70,000 seat-Wembley Stadium, the Rolling Stones have added a 2nd concert Aug. 22.

Dec. 3 :  Ronnie Wood joins Ian McLagan on stage in Houston, TX

A few hours after the Rolling Stones' concert at the Toyota Center, Ronnie Wood joined is old Faces-mate Ian McLagan on stage at the Continental Club. Ronnie came up on stage with Blondie Chaplin and Bernard Fowler.

Nov. 29 :  Rolling Stones European Tour Dates announced !

A first batch of concerts has been announced today. The tour will start in Spain and is, as of today, due to end in the UK by the end of Aug.
First bad news : only stadium and open air concerts are scheduled, no arenas, no clubs...

Nov. 23 :  The Rolling Stones Live at the American Music Awards

The Stones were part of ABC's American Music Awards as 2 songs from their show in Salt Lake City were broadcast live.
The songs were Rain Fall Down and It's Only Rock & Roll.

Nov. 22 :  Concert tickets for the Stones in Buenos Aires on sale.

The tickets for both River Plate shows are on sale. Only VISA cardholders can buy tickets right now, general sale is due to start Dec. 12.

Nov. 16 :  Final 2005 stadium show

The Rolling Stones' concert yesterday evening at the San Francisco PETCO Park was their last open air show of the year.
The rest of the 2005 U.S. tour will now take place in arenas.
The 1st 2 weeks of November have brought urprises to the fans who saw the band live : after Keith changing The Worst into Slipping Away, a few more new songs appeared on the setlists : As Tears Go By, It Won't Take Long, Sweet Virginia.

Nov. 2 2005 :  A change in Keith Richard's set

Since the start of the tour in Boston, Keith has been performing The Worst and Infamy on every show (except Charlottesville where he did not sing at all because of the bomb alert that interrupted the show).
Yesterday night in Portland, The Worst was skipped for the 1st time and replaced by Slipping Away.

Oct. 24 2005 :  Happy Birthday Mr. Wyman !

Best wishes to Bill Wyman !
Bill will celebrate his 69th birthday onstage today at the Konzerthus in Oslo, Norway.

Oct. 18 2005 :  Joss Stone joins the Stones on stage 

After performing her set as an opening act, Joss Stone came on stage during the Rolling Stones' set to sing the Ray Charles cover Night Time (Is The Right Time)  at the American Airlines Arena in Miami yesterday night.

Oct. 18 2005 :  European tour dates to be announced soon. 

A 1st batch of the Rolling Stones' 2006 European tour dates should be announced Nov. 14.
The tour will mostly consist of open air / stadium shows, but it seems that a few arena shows may be added to the tour.

Oct. 11 2005 :  One more song from A Bigger Bang performed live 

Rough Justice, Oh No Not You Again, Infamy et Back Of My Hand were already included in this tour's concerts, but since yesterday in Philadelphia, an additional 5th song from the album has been played live : Rain Fall Down.

Oct. 7 2005 :  Rolling Stones concert in Charlottesville interrupted

The Rolling Stones concert at Charlottesville's Scott Stadium had to be interrupted yesterday evening. 
Mick Jagger announced a 10-minute break and the band had to leave the stage. Part of the floor was evacuated, while policemen and dogs checked the area. The concert resumed after a while, but Keith's 2 songs were skipped. 
It's been a very long time since the previous Stones concert without Keith singing. Setlist to be found on the World Tour 2005-2006 page.

Oct.  3 2005 :  Aerosmith and Lenny Kravitz on common tour

Aerosmith is about to release a new live CD entitled Rockin' The Joint featuring a concert recorded in 2002 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The album will be available in DualDisc format, with the live CD on one side and a DVD feat 4 live songs (including 2 songs not featured on the audio CD) onnthe other side. Release date : Oct. 25.
The band will then hit the road in the U.S. in Nov. and Dec. with Lenny Kravitz as co-headliner.
The tour will consist of arena shows.
Aerosmith already made a co-headliner tour last year with KISS, and they seem to appreciate working with K-lettered artists. They also seem to forget that they have also have fans in Europe...

Oct. 3 2005 :  Streets Of Love featured in NBC soap opera

The Rolling Stones' current single Streets Of Love will be featured in the NBC soap opera Days Of Our Lives.
The 1st appearance of the song is scheduled on Oct. 18 and it will then be used as a regular musical theme in the series.

Sep. 29 2005 :  New Rolling Stones Video aired worldwide

The brand new video of Streets Of Love is currently being aired on music channels all over the world.
If you haven't seen it yet, you can go to the VH1 webpage and find it there.
The video was shot in Ottawa (check the news at Aug. 31)

Sep. 29 2005 :  New on-stage duet for the Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones played Wild Horses with special guest Eddie Vedder yesterday night in Toronto. This is their 2nd duet on this tour after Buddy Guy in Milwaukee a few weeks ago. Some rare songs are showing up on the setlists of recent shows, for the fans' biggest pleasure.

Sep. 10 2005 :  Rolling Stones : contributions to victims of hurricane Katrina.

The Rolling Stones have played Waiting On A Friend in Milwaukee. The song will  be aired in the “ReAct Now: Music & Relief" show on american TVs today.
They also made a donation of $ 1 Million to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
Fans will also be able to make donations to the Red Cross at the concert venues or buy tickets at www.ticketsforcharity.com 

Sep. 7 2005 :  Rolling Stones involved in benefit event.

The Rolling Stones will be part of the “ReAct Now: Music & Relief" fundraiser show to be broadcast in the U.S. Saturday night on MTV, VH1 and CMT. Donations will go to the victims of the hurricane Katrina.
Paul Mc Cartney, Neil Young, Mötley Crue, Dave Matthews, Kid Rock and many more will be part of the show made of live and previously recorded performances.

Sep. 4 2005 :  Huge crowd in Moncton, and a few changes 

The Rolling Stones managed to sell 85.000 tickets for a concert in a city of approx. 61.000.
They made some changes in the setlist, playing Midnight Rambler on the B-stage, and playing It's Only Rock & Roll in the 1st part of the show, leaving the encore to Satisfaction. Since Midnight Rambler is a long song, only 20 songs were performed in Moncton, compared to the 22 from Boston and the 21 of the latest concerts.

Let's hope that the release of A Bigger Bang this week will bring a few more changes and new stuff to the setlist.

Sep. 3 2005 :  The Rolling Stones starring at the 2006 Superbowl 

The Stones will perform during the half-time break of the Superbowl, at Detroit's Ford Field, Feb. 5

Sep. 3 2005 :  A World Music Award for the Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones have been honored as the World's Best-Selling Touring Act Of All Time at the World Music Awards ceremony which was taped in LA this week. None of the Stones were there, but the band recorded a speech on video.
The ceremony will be broadcast in the U.S. on ABC Sep. 1

Sep. 1 2005 :  The Detroit show to be broadcast next week. 

The Rolling Stones show which took place at the Comerica Park yesterday (see setlist) has been filmed and some songs will be broadcast on ABC Sep. 8th (at 08:00 PM ET) during the one-hour NFL kickoff pregame special.

Aug. 31 2005 :  The video of Streets Of Love shot in Ottawa. 

The day after their show at the Frank Clair Stadium, the Rolling Stones went to a Ottawa night Club, the Zaphod Beeblebrox, to shoot the video of their current single, Streets Of Love.

Aug. 25  2005 :  Theodora Richards emblem of Morgan.

Theodora Richards, daughter of Keith Richards and ex top model Patti Hansen, has been chosen to represent the fashion brand Morgan for its latest collection.
The spirit of the campaign is very rock n' roll, and the photos have been taken by the famous french photograph Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

Aug. 22 2005 :  More indoor Stones concerts added the day after the 1st concert.

2005 : Las Vegas Nov. 18
2006 : Boston, St Louis, Omaha, Baltimore, Little Rock, New York and Chicago.

The last scheduled date is Little Rock, March 9 2006, which seems to indicate that the Stones will be back in the US after a short South American tour, and before leaving for Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

Aug 18 2005 :  First On Stage soundcheck today

After travelling from Toronto to Boston, the Rolling Stones are expected to perform their first soundcheck on the new stadium stage today.  Thanks in advance to the fans in the neighborhood for sending their review of the rehearsals to doctorstones@yahoo.com so we can share the news with everybody.

Aug. 18 2005 :  Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman together on DVD

A DVD entitled Hommage au Roi du Rock N Roll  (Tribute to the King Of RnR) is to be released in France Sep. 8 by TF1 Video. It features a private concert recorded and filmed by a french team in London’s Abbey Road studios in December 2004.
Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings are playing with Scotty Moore, Elvis Presley’s guitar player.
Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton and David Gilmour are among the numerous other guests.

Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings are playing on most of the songs, and Ronnie Wood appears on 4 of them :
Heartbreak Hotel, Jailhouse Rock, Good Rocking Tonight
et Hound Dog.
The Bonus section features a lot of interviews from Scotty Moore and his guests (including Ronnie and Bill) and a documentary showing the rehearsals.

The concert will also be released on CD (in a slightly shortened version)

The DVD is released in France first but it should be available in many European countries.
Of course, it can be ordered on french webpages like Amazon.fr or Fnac.com.

July 26 2005 :  A Bigger Bang - more details

ALBUM
In a press release, the name of the Stones new album has been confirmed. It is A Bigger Bang, inspired from the theory of the Big Bang.
It will contain 16 songs, among which 7 have been confirmed.

TOUR
The press release also confirmed that the Stones new tour would bring them to Australia and New Zealand, before the European leg, and after the South American and Asian dates.

July 26 2005 :  Album and single news

The single Streets of Love / Rough Justice is due out in the UK August 22, according to Billboard.
With such a double "A side" single, radio stations will be able to choose the song they want to air.

The forthcoming album should be entitled A Bigger Bang, according to radio stations who aired the new tracks last week. (source : IORR)

July 26 2005 :  New stadium show confirmed

The rumored show at Duke University is now confirmed. The show is scheduled Oct. 8.

July 22 2005 :  2 new Rolling Stones songs aired today around the world

2 new songs from the lastest Rolling Stones recording sessions are being aired by radio stations around the world.
Streets of Love : a very Jaggerish 4-min. ballad that could easily have ended on a Mick Jagger solo album or on the Alfie soundtrack.
Rough Justice : 3 minutes of loud guitars and rapid tempo. A real rocker, with a great job from Charlie and powerful vocals. The production is kept simple, and this song will for sure satisfy a huge amount of Rolling Stones fans around the world. 

July 20 :  A 2nd Hollywood Bowl concert confirmed for the Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones will play a 2nd show at the Hollywood Bowl in LA Tuesday November 8. 
Fanclub presales have started, public sale next monday, July 25.
It seems that the rumored club shows won't take place and will be replaced by concerts in bigger venues, which would allow the Stones to add new markets to their US tour. Check the Tour Page 2005-2006 for details. 

July 20 :  Rolling Stones rehearsing in Toronto

Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie have started rehearsing at the Greenwood College School in Toronto July 14.
The songs rehearsed as of today are : Oh No Not You Again, Bitch, Start Me Up, Get Off Of My Cloud, Gimme Shelter, Love is Strong, Far Away Eyes, She's So Cold, Under My Thumb, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Street Fighting Man et Harlem Shuffle

The stage is being built in a hangar at the Pearson Airport in Toronto.

July 12 2005 :  Rolling Stones in TV commercial

Rolling Stones North American tour sponsor Ameriquest Mortgage has just launched a TV campaign featuring the Rolling Stones live and playing Start Me Up. The commercial can be seen online and other Stones related commercials  will probably be added later.
A game is also organized - for US residents only - and the first prize is a meet and greet with the band at the Madison Square Garden in January 2006.

July 2 2005 :  Stones News

ALBUM
The forthcoming album has been presented to the press June 29 at the Olympic Studions in London.
Neither the album's name, nor its release date have been confirmed yet. The mixing was ended June 28, and Mick, Keith and Don Was went on directly with the mastering.
The band is said to have recorded 18 songs, and 11 were played (at leasdt partially).
Most of the songs are said to be up tempo pure Rolling Stones, and 2 ballads have also been presented.
Most of the recordings have been made by the 4 Stones, with apparently few guest/side musicians.
The albums is made of 100% new material, recorded in  France in 2004 and 2005.

TOUR
The rehearsals are due to start in Toronto by mid-July (latest July 18). 

July 2 2005 :  News on Tim Ries' album

The Rolling Stones Project, Tim's album has finally been released in Japan. It was due out much earlier (cf. DoctorStones news April 2004)  but now it is available, and Tim will give a few concerts in Japan this week. Then he'll join the Stones for their tour rehearsals.
The Rolling Stones Project will be released in The US and in Europe August 9.
Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood, Sheryl Crow, Lisa Fischer, Norah Jones, Bernard Fowler, Darryl Jones and Chuck Leavell are among the guests featured on the album. 
Ron Wood also contributed to the cover providing a painting he made during the 60ies (when he was studying art), which was hanging ever since in his mother's living room.

June 29 2005 :  New Ethan Russell photo exhibition in San Francisco

Being There 1967-2005 is the name of Ethan Russell's new photo exhibition opening July 11 at the San Francisco Art Exchange.
New and unseen pictures,
both color and black and white, will be shown and on sale in limited editions.
Subjects include John Lennon, the Who, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, Bill Wyman and many more.
Russell has also chosen for this show previously unseen photos taken at his family's ranch in Carmel Valley, including one of Mick Jagger crossing a stream on horseback. The exhibition runs through the end of August.

June 26 2005 :  Rolling Stones appearing on the "Dick Cavett Show" DVD

Mick Jagger has approved the Rolling Stones' appearance in the forthcoming DVD set commemorating the Dick Cavett TV show.
The DVD will feature approx. 15 minutes of Rolling Stones related material : part of Mick Jagger's interview and very partial footage of the Rolling Stones performing Brown Sugar and Street Fighting Man at the Madison Square Garden July 25 1972 (2 min. of each song)
The Dick Cavett show lasted from 1969 to 1975. Other music personalities such as Janis Joplin, David Bowie and George Harrisson will also be featured in the 3 DVD set. 

June 22 2005 :  Keith Richards' surprise appearance in a club in LA

Ivan Neville was playing at the Joint yesterday evening with Darryl Jones , Bernard Fowler, Jimmy Rip, Charlie Drakeland and Phil Jones.
Keith Richards showed up during the concert and played on Going to a Go Go, It's All Over Now, You Got Me Rocking, Wild Horses, Street Fighting Man et an extended 12 to 14 min. long Jumpin' Jack Flash.

June 21 2005 :  New California show for the Rolling Stones 

After 4 stadiums, the Stones added an arena-size concert for their californian fans at the Hollywood Bowl, Sunday Nov. 6
Fan club presales are due to start today at 1:00 PM EST (7:00 PM CET)
General public sale on Monday June 27.

June 15 2005 :  Rolling Stones in France in 2006 : 1st news 

The Rolling Stones management is said to have contacted the city of Bergerac (close to Bordeaux). They are planning a 40,000 capacity concert in this south-west region of France. Elton John played a concert in the Bergerac municipal stadium in 2001.
On a Marketing basis, the idea seems very clever, since there is a large low-cost offer for flights from the UK to the region of Bordeaux.

June 7 2005 :  New concert dates confirmed for the Rolling Stones' On Stage Tour 

Philadelphia is getting a 2nd concert as rumored. NYC's Madison Square Garden show is also taking place officially.

June 6 2005 :  Rolling Stones : About the forthcoming album 

Keith Richards finally didn't show up at Michael Cohl's induction to Canada's Hall of Fame because the Stones are currently working on their album in LA. In an interview Michael Cohl gave to the Toronto Sun, the album is not yet completely recorded. Click HERE for the complete interview.

May 27 2005 :  Keith Richards at the Canada's Walk of Fame Ceremony 

Keith Richards will be among the presenters at the induction of nominees to Canada's Walk of Fame June 6 in Toronto.
He will present honoree Michael Cohl, the Billboard and JUNO Award-winning concert promoter.

"Keith said yes right away," says Peter Soumalias, chair of Canada's Walk of Fame. 
The guitar God is old pals with Cohl and will be returning to Toronto later this summer anyway to rehearse his upcoming tour with the Stones.

Bill Wyman will hit the road again in October, November and January.
His new 2005-2006 tour will take place mainly in Northern and Eastern Europe.

The 2nd Boston Fenway Park show is confirmed and on sale.
San Francisco is getting 2 shows in November at the SBC Park.

May 14 2005 :  Rolling Stones said to have given their blessing to the Brian Jones movie. 

While presenting his movie Stoned at the Cannes film festival, Stephen Woolley said the Stones gave him a message of support.
He also declared that they were not consulted about the film since he didn't want it to be a film about the Rolling Stones.
18 months ago, when the movie project was unveiled, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were said to be unhappy about it.
The movie is based on the supposition that Brian Jones hs been killed by Frank Thorogood, and Wolley announced that he found a new source of information during the long preparation of the film. Even if he refused to name his new source, some people say it may be Frank Thorogood's girlfriend at the time Brian passed away.

May 10 2005 :  Rolling Stones Press conference : 1st review  

The conference started around 1:30 PM. Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie came up with Darry Jones to play 3 songs : Start Me Up, Oh No Not You Again (new song) and Brown Sugar.
Michael Cohl came up after them to give the tour's 1st details. As rumoured, the tour will start Aug. 21 in Boston (Fenway Park) and roll thru North America intil Dec. 1st. It will start again Jan 7 2006 up to Feb. 7
Then it'll be time for Puerto Rico (first announced on DoctorStones.net), Mexico, Argentina, Asia, including Japan and probably China.
Europe will see the Stones as said before in June July and August 2006.
The North American tour is sponsored by Ameriquest Mortgage.

The Stones came back on stage for approx. 10 minutes at 1:55 PM to answer the press' questions. Here are the highlights :
THE ALBUM : 
Announced as hard-hitting and wide-ranging. No name given. No release date. Finished at 85% as of today.
THE STAGE  :
The stadium stage is designed to get approx. 400 fans into it for a new live experience.
WILL THIS BE THE LAST TOUR ?
Mick answered the band is taking each tour as it comes. He doesen't want to sell the tickets because it is their last tour, but Charlie said a quick Yes ! just before Mick started answering the question.
THE REHEARSALS :
Will take place in Toronto, as usual.

5 Mai 2005 : Busy ex-Expensive Winos 

Bruce Springsteen worked with Keith's friend Steve Jordan on his latest CD Devils and Dust.

Joe Perry played live with Charley Drayton last Monday at the Boston Harpers Ferry Club during his new solo album release gig.
His new CD, soberly entitled Joe Perry has been released  on DualDisc. The DVD features the album in 5.1 sound, some video footage from the recording session, and the possibilty to re-mix 2 songs from the album. 
A 2nd promotional concert is due to take place tonight in New York City at the Webster Hall, where Mick Jagger played a gig for the release of his solo album Wandering Spirit some years ago.

May 1 2005 : Bill Wyman et Ron Wood together for a concert and a DVD 

In December 2004, a few celebrities joined the legendary Elvis Presley guitar player Scotty Moore for a special concert session.
The session took place at the legendary Abbey Road studios in London in front of approx. 100 EMI employees, with no press allowed in.
Scotty Moore was accompanied by : Eric Clapton, Ronnie Wood, Bill Wyman, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Albert Lee etc.

The session was filmed and recorded by a french production team, and the CD and DVD are due out in September (in France by TF1 video). The title has not been determined yet.
Ron Wood was (with Keith Richards) part of the 1997 All the King's Men with Scotty Moore and D.J. Fontana.

April 22 2005 : World Premiere in Cannes for the Brian Jones movie

THE WILD AND WYCKED WORLD OF BRIAN JONES will be shown for the 1st time May 14 at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
The title seems not to be definitive, and may be changed into STONED, at least in certain countries.
Brian's role is played by Leo Gregory.

April 19 2005 : Rock fans, get ready for a busy summer !!

A few weeks before the Rolling Stones' press conference and official tour announcement, let's sum up our other possible musical activities for this spring/summer :

Bruce Springsteen will be touring extensively through Northern America and Europe
Iggy (Pop) and the Stooges will be back in Europe for at least a dozen of concerts
Lenny Kravitz will tour Europe in June/July
Oasis will play some club shows in May, before playing European festivals, a UK tour, a US tour and a few japanese dates
U2 has begun touring the US, will hit Europe this summer, before going back to North America for a 2nd leg of their tour
Iron Maiden will be on tour from May to August, including festivals and stadium shows in Europe and Ozzfest dates in the US.
Marilyn Manson is touring Europe in June.
Robert Plant will be back in the U.S. and Canada in June/July after a few european dates, and before some other ones in Aug. 
Paul McCartney has announced an arena tour for the fall in North America. 

April 16 2005 : Keith Richards' tribute to Johnnie Johnson

Keith Richards just gave Rolling Stone's journalist David Fricke an interview, a couple of days after Johnnie Johnson's death.
Johnnie was Chuck Berry's pianist for decades. In 2003, he joined the Rolling Stones on stage in Houston for Honky Tonk Woman.

April 14 2005 : Ronnie Wood back in rehab

Ronnie Wood is said to be back into rehabilitation since last month.
The Rolling Stones' guitarist is fighting his addiction to alcohol for several years now and went to a 1st rehab a few months before the beginning of the Licks World Tour in 2002.
His spokeman says he is getting some rest and wants to be fit for the beginning of the Rolling Stones' next tour, which is expected to start in August. (Source : ContactMusic) 

Mar. 22 2005 : Some news about the Stones touring schedule

According to a very reliable source, the next tour will start by the end of August or the very beginning of September. 
Most of the shows will take place in arenas, but stadium shows are also planned. No info about theatres as of today. 
North America will be toured in the fall. 
Asia and Australia will be visited in the winter. 
A show is also expected to take place in Feb. in Puerto Rico, which would be a premiere. 
The European tour would take place as usual, in the summer.

Mar. 12 2005 : New Stones related book

Continuum Publishing is releasing a book dedicated to many Stones fans' favorite album : Exile on Main Street.
Partly written as an essay, the book tries to trace the construction of the album.
It also features a song-by-song analysis.

This book is of course made for Exile fans, but it  also gives the others some interesting info and a good opportunity to give this record a new listen.

The book is part of the 33 1/3 series which is focusing on specific LPs.
It is the series' 1st book focusing on a Rolling Stones album; let's hope it won't be the last one. 

Mar. 1 2005 : New releases worth mentioning

The Rolling Stones 3rd and last singles box set is finally out, feat. a bonus DVD as announced last year.
Solomon Burke's latest album has also been released recently. Entitled " Make Do With What You Got ", it contains a cover version of the Rolling Stones' I got the Blues.

Jan. 28 2005 : Let It Bleed enters the Grammy Hall of Fame

The Rolling Stones 1969 album Let It Bleed is one of this year's 20 Inductees. The only other entire album to be inducted this year is Judy Garland's Meet Me In St Louis soundtrack.
This is the Stones 3rd album to enter the Grammy Hall of Fame, after Beggar's Banquet and Sticky Fingers.
The Grammy Hall of Fame is honoring recordings of qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old.

Jan. 28 2005 : Ronnie Wood involved in tsunami relief effort

Ronnie Wood is involved in the Mod Aid 20 project, which is due to record a cover of the Small Faces' "What'cha Gonna Do About It?".
The proceeds of the CD will go to the victims of the Asian tsunami.
P.P. Arnold, Chris Farlowe,  Steve Cradock (Ocean Colour Scene) and Steve Diggle (The Buzzcock's) are also part of the project.
